My experience with graphic design began in 1996 when I joined the military and was trained at the the DINFOS, the Defense Information School at Ft Mead Maryland. During my time in the military I designed posters, magazines, fliers, and a variety of other products to support missions in South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. I spent a year and a half deployed on various missions in the Balkans doing military graphic design.
After finishing my service, I went to college
and graduated from the Guildhall@SMU with a digital design certificate, and went on to make video games for several years, which uses a remarkably large amount of the same skills since it comes down to graphically displaying complex information, in an appealing and easily understood manner.
Eventually I decided to return to my first career, and used my G.I. Bill to get an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design.
